THE SILVER FLATWARE CREATION

1) Forge: Hammering: the laminated silver ingot is handhammered to shape the blank of a spoon or a fork and controled on to the die.

2) Stamping: through several strikes, the blank is stamped between the engraved steeldies to provide and design the flatware.

3) Trimming: the overflowed edges are cut down from the rims.

4) Filing: coorecting the defects on the smooth surfaces.

5) Chasing: each piece is hand ciseled to draw out the details and the relieves of the design.

6) Polishing: To enhance the contrasts between the flat surfaces and the ornements with shining and mat aspects.

7) Engraving: personnalization of the fltware by cutting off the silver with a tool called "burin" to engrave a cypher or a coat of arms.
